Our merry band of young writers, The Scribblers, posed some particularly brilliant questions to some of the artists appearing at Hay this year. Over the next few weeks we’ll be bringing you their answers. A big welcome to TONY ROBINSON.
An hilarious trip through time
If you had to pick one of your characters to spend the day with, which one would you choose?
Julius Caesar – he was so powerful he could get you anything you wanted in the whole world.
Which writer, dead or alive, you would like to collaborate with?
George Eliot – she could do the inner turmoil but I’d be better at the jokes.
What’s the best thing about writing?
It’s your world.
What’s your top tip for budding young writers?
Learn to redraft, but then learn when to stop.
Catch Tony at the festival, a week today, on Saturday 9 June, 11.30am
